♥ Sprint's iPhone Coming Soon! ♥
The iPhone 4G is COMING!!!
Looks like Verizon will definally get the iPhone this summer. As 4 Sprint, during my reasearch, I havent found anything 2 suggest Sprint will get the phone as well. So, all I can say is"Lets wait and see"
December 12, 2009 - Are you ready? Release likely around June or July of 2010.
Lots of speculation is going around on the new iPhone 4g... in HD!!
Verizon Wireless is currently testing a CDMA version of the iPhone 4G and Verizon confirms they are making network changes to bring the iphone to their network. The new iPhone 4g is going to be loaded with awesome new features like video chat, multi-tasking and extreme downloading. (List of possible features below). Just when you think there is nothing else to come up with, more and more and more technology comes out. And it is on the rise, and not just at Apple, Inc!
Woo hoo! This iPhone 4g could also have dual core processors and higher and powerful graphic chips that can deliver higher video resolutions and better "still" images when taking pictures.
There are a few networks working on building a 4G network. T-mobile would be a likely carrier since they are GSM already. Sprint has a 4G network already... AT&T and Verizon Wireless are in the beginning stages. There are talks of Verizon Wireless getting iPhone sometime in 2010 since the exclusive contract with AT&T expires, but it could be renewed until 2012.
Whether or not it will be 4G will be up to them!... can they build in time? Regardless, there is much anticipation on how many people will leave AT&T for Verizon Wireless because of AT&T's lagging on app restrictions like Slingplayer and Google Voice and Skype (on #g network, not Wi-Fi).
AT&T's restrictions have caused the percentage of people that are JailBreaking their iPhones to rise since Jail Breaking usually comes with Cydia which is the app store for jail broken phones. Most of the applications, ringtones, and even iphone themes!...are free with Cydia. Winterboard is part of the download, and it very easily add's the changes to your phone so you dont have to figure how to do it on your own...it is VERY automated.
The Palm Pre on Sprint (Sprint now offering a 4G network) has made an attempt at being competitive with iPhone and Blackberry...but it's not looking good. Maybe their recent Android phone will help.
iPhone 4G looks promising in terms of being sleek, packed with new hardware and multi-tasking software. Very exciting.
A few features of iPhone 4G:
A new, sleeker body design.
OLED screen.
Multi-Tasking. (use multiple functions at once
without going in and out of apps)
iChat camera (on the front so you can have video chat!!!)
32G (basic) and 64G of memory. Your sure to never run out.
Removable Battery.
Hi Definition Camera.
Hi Definition Camcorder.
Hi Definition audio.
Messaging light.
True GPS built in.

♥ Ubber Twitter Download ♥
http://www.ubertwitter.com/bb/download.php
The following changes have been made from 0.963 to 0.970
Java exceptions on device boot - Fixed issue where java exceptions would be reported on device reboot due to lack of permissions
Opt-out of sponsored tweets - Users can now opt out of receiving sponsored tweets
Goto User bug fix - Fixed bug where entering a user not in your timeline and then pressing trackball wouldn't use the text you entered but instead find the closest match from your friends list
Everyone Near You - Fixed bug where it wouldn't uses your current location, and sometimes would revert to somewhere off the coast of Africa. Also increased the distance to a 10 mile radius, in the future we will let you select this.
Mini-Icon Notification - Fixed bug where if the app didn't have certain permissions not related to the mini-icon, it still wouldn't show the mini-icon
Fine-Tuned control of visual notifications - There are now three settings each for the mini-icon and application icon so you can fine-tune the control over how you want each to notify you. Also, the number next to the mini-icon will only reflect the number of new tweets of the type it is tracking. For example, if you only set the mini-icon to track new DMs, then the number next to the mini-icon will only reflect the number of new DMs.
New short-cut for page-up - Added a new short-cut to page-up in the timeline, pressing '0' (zero) will now page up in the timeline
Instability when using cell location - Fixed bug that would cause instability in the app when using cell tower location
3G Cell Tower Inaccuracy - Fixed a bug in the cell tower location mechanism when 3G towers were being used
Symbol Screen - Again reworked the symbol screen
Secure Connection - Changed the default Twitter endpoint so your traffic will travel over a secure HTTPS connection
Deleting DMs - We now allow you to delete direct messages.
Constant permissions requests - Fixed bug where every time the app was started it would ask for permissions.
The following changes were made from 0.960 to 0.963
TwitLonger confirmation dialog - We have added a dialog confirming that you want to use TwitLonger when sending a tweet.
Auto network bug fix - Fixed a bug where the AUTO section would not work, but setting to BIS-B would work.
Mini-indicator icon bug fix - Fixed bug where the mini-indicator icon would not work
Application Permissions - Specifically asked for the inter-application permission, as not having it makes certain capabilities non-functional.
The following changes were made from 0.945 to 0.960
Picture/Video Chooser - Modified to be much quicker and sort newest files to the top. Once BlackBerry fixes the bug in 5.0 which prevents us from using their built-in chooser, we will switch to that which will provide thumbnails.
Viewing TwitLonger Tweets - Fixed bug where longer tweets were getting cut off
Copy/Paste Links - Fixed a bug where when you copied/pasted a link from a tweet it would end up pasting the entire link.
Avatar Uploads - Fixed a bug where some users avatar uploads would consistently fail.
Flickr Image Support - Now support in-line thumbnails and viewing of Flickr images.
TwitGoo - Now support in-line thumbnails and viewing of TwitGoo images.
Pressing Enter on Uber Bar - Pressing ENTER on the Uber Bar will now select the tab.
Friend Picker - Fixed a bug where the friend picker would sometimes not show up when pressing '@'
Battery Drain - Fixed a bug where failures to load your friends list would significantly drain the battery.
Short-cut to Email a Tweet - press 'z' to email a tweet!
Spurious reboots/White Screens - Through painstaking tests with our test group we tracked down the issue that was causing spurious reboots and instability for some users.
WiFi Only Fix - Fixed a bug where users with no data plan were unable to use the wifi only mode.
Reply All and underscores - Fixed a bug in reply-all where users with an underscore were not getting copied properly.
Added Cancel to retweet dialog - Added the option to select 'cancel' when being asked whether to use the new or old retweet method.
Load More on list timelines - Fixed the 'load more' button so it actually works at the bottom of list timelines.
Focus switch to tweet text - Changed the focus to be the tweet text and not the avatar when opening a tweet
www.twitpic.com URL now supported - Now support www.twitpic.com for preview and image views.
Inability to delete tweets less than 15 characters - Fixed the bug where you couldn't delete tweets less than 15 characters.
Adding account to account list - Fixed bug where adding a new account didn't immediately show up in the account list.
BirdNext Proxy Bug - Fixed a bug so that the Bird Next proxy will now work when posting tweets.
New Style Retweets Truncated - Fixed bug where new style retweets would sometimes be truncated if the original tweet was close to 140 characters.
Sponsored Content - Changed sponsored content 'bubbles' to look different then regular tweets.
GPS failures - Fixed an issue where the built-in GPS would not be used for location.
Exceptions when permissions were not granted - Fixed numerous issues which would be triggered if the application didn't have adequate permissions.

Android NDK r3
The third release of the Android Native Development Kit (NDK) is now available for download from the Android developer site.
It can be used to target devices running Android 1.5 and higher. In addition to a few bug fixes and improvements, this release includes the following new features:
Toolchain improvement
The toolchain binaries have been refreshed for this release with GCC 4.4.0, which should generate slightly more compact and efficient machine code than the previous one (4.2.1).
Note that the GCC 4.4.0 C++ frontend is more pedantic, and may refuse to compile certain rare and invalid template declarations that were accepted by 4.2.1. To alleviate the problem, this NDK still provides the 4.2.1 binaries, which can optionally be used to build your machine code.
OpenGL ES 2.0 support
Applications targeting Android 2.0 (API level 5) or higher can now directly access OpenGL ES 2.0 features. This brings the ability to control graphics rendering through vertex and fragment shader programs, using the GLSL shading language.
A new trivial sample, named "hello-gl2", demonstrates how to render a simple triangle using both shader types.
Name simplification
This NDK release is just called "r3", for "Revision 3", to indicate that it is not limited to a specific Android platform/API level. Some developers thought that the previous release's name (1.6_r1) was confusing and indicated that it could only be used to target Android 1.6, which was not true.
Enjoy!

Speech Input API for Android
People love their mobile phones because they can stay in touch wherever they are. That means not just talking, but e-mailing, texting, microblogging, and so on. So, in addition to search by voice and voice shortcuts like "Navigate to", we included a voice-enabled keyboard in Android 2.1, which makes it even easier to stay connected. Now you can dictate your message instead of typing it. Just tap the new microphone button on the keyboard, and you can speak just about anywhere you would normally type.
We believe speech can fundamentally change the mobile experience. We would like to invite every Android application developer to consider integrating speech input capabilities via the Android SDK. One of my favorite apps in the Market that integrates speech input is Handcent SMS, because you can dictate a reply to any SMS with a quick tap on the SMS popup window.
Speech input integrated into Handcent SMS
The Android SDK makes it easy to integrate speech input directly into your own application—just copy and paste from this sample application to get started. Android is an open platform, so your application can potentially make use of any speech recognition service on the device that's registered to receive a RecognizerIntent
. Google's Voice Search application, which is pre-installed on many Android devices, responds to a RecognizerIntent
by displaying the "Speak now" dialog and streaming audio to Google's servers—the same servers used when a user taps the microphone button on the search widget or the voice-enabled keyboard. (You can check if Voice Search is installed in Settings ➝ Applications ➝ Manage applications
.)
One important tip: for speech input to be as accurate as possible, it's helpful to have an idea of what words are likely to be spoken. While a message like "Mom, I'm writing you this message with my voice!" might be appropriate for an email or SMS message, you're probably more likely to say something like "weather in Mountain View" if you're using Google Search. You can make sure your users have the best experience possible by requesting the appropriate language model: "free_form" for dictation, or "web_search" for shorter, search-like phrases. We developed the "free form" model to improve dictation accuracy for the voice keyboard on the Nexus One, while the "web search" model is used when users want to search by voice.
Google's servers currently support English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese. The web search model is available in all three languages, while free-form has primarily been optimized for English. As we work hard to support more models in more languages, and to improve the accuracy of the speech recognition technology we use in our products, Android developers who integrate speech capabilities directly into their applications can reap the benefits as well.

Android at the Game Developer's Conference
Tuesday, March 9 marks the start of the 2010 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, and Android will be there! There has been a lot of interest about Android from the game development community, and our presence at GDC is intended to provide developers everything they need to get started with the platform. We are hosting several technical sessions and participating in two industry panels.
We also want to meet you and answer your questions about Android game development, so we've set aside time for "office hours." Android team engineers will be on-hand to answer your questions, and if you have a game in development for Android, we'd love to see a demo.
Below, you can see the technical sessions that we're hosting and industry panels that we're participating in. We look forward to seeing you at GDC2010!
